I'd like to thank Ed Rasmuson and the trustees of the Rasmuson Foundation for supporting the Coastal Trail extension.
The foundation's tremendous financial support of the extension will bridge a gap between phases of the planning process, allowing the city to move forward with the trail once again -- after a year of zero progress by the Murkowski administration.
The Rasmuson Foundation has made a gift to the city that will enhance our quality of life and our sense of place for generations, and I am personally grateful for their generosity and foresight.
As the director of Anchorage's largest locally based conservation group, I'd also like to say that we look forward to being a part of the process to finalize a workable trail route that best meets the needs of the community. Let's get to work!
