The Fairview Community Council advocates and supports construction of the south extension of the Coastal Trail in a location that is along the coast and is similar in character to the existing trail as possible. The Modified Orange Route avoids crossing the wildlife refuge, all hunting areas, the moto-cross and rifle range, but comes closer to homes than the original. Therefore impacts to private properties should be further studied and reduced where possible, while maintaining a fair balance between impacts to homeowners, wildlife, and other users of the land and the values and long-term interests of the community as a whole.
